Honoring the Pillars of the Maritime Nation

MANILA, Philippines — SEA FAM led the celebration of the Day of the Seafarer 2025 with a Special Flag Ceremony dedicated to honoring the resilience, professionalism, and sacrifices of Filipino seafarers. The ceremony gathered maritime advocates, industry leaders, and partner organizations in a unified tribute to the men and women who continue to keep the global economy moving through their service at sea.

Advocating for Dignity and Protection Onboard

Echoing this year’s international theme, #MyHarassmentFreeShip, SEA FAM emphasized its steadfast commitment to creating a maritime environment anchored on respect, safety, and equality. The organization reaffirmed that every seafarer deserves a workplace free from harassment and discrimination — one that upholds dignity and fosters genuine care among crew members.

A Continuing Commitment to Seafarer Welfare

In its message, SEA FAM highlighted the importance of collaboration among maritime institutions, training centers, and welfare agencies to safeguard seafarers’ rights and well-being. The initiative reflects SEA FAM’s broader mission to promote awareness, strengthen mental health support, and advocate for fair and just treatment across all levels of the maritime profession
