Good News: Filipino Seafarers’ New Seafarers’ Welfare Center Launch in MOA Area I MARINO PH

A major milestone for the Philippine maritime sector was marked with the Grand Launch of the Seafarers’ Welfare Center held on 13 February 2026 at Monarch ParkSuites, Bradco Avenue, Aseana Business Park, Parañaque City (MOA Area).

The newly established Seafarers’ Welfare Center serves as a dedicated one-stop service hub for Filipino seafarers, providing convenient access to essential government services such as SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, and other key welfare programs. The initiative aims to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure that seafarers and their families can access vital services in one central location.

The event was led by Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Administrator Patricia Yvonne M. Caunan of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

Also present were Heads, Directors, and Senior Executives from the DMW, NMP, partner maritime organizations, industry stakeholders, and various government agencies, demonstrating strong inter-agency collaboration and unified support for Filipino seafarers.

The launch reflects a strengthened national commitment to protect, empower, and uplift our modern-day heroes at sea ensuring that while they serve the world, their welfare remains a top priority at home
