Marino PH joins the nation in celebration of world maritime day & national maritime week
Sep 19, 2025

Marino PH proudly joins the Philippine maritime community and the rest of the world in celebrating the 26th National Maritime Week from September 22 to 28, 2025, alongside the global observance of World Maritime Day on September 25, 2025. These events are significant annual milestones that honor the vital contributions of the maritime sector to the nation’s economy, global trade, and sustainable development.

With the theme “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity,” this year’s celebration emphasizes the shared responsibility of all stakeholders in safeguarding the oceans while recognizing the opportunities they provide for growth, livelihood, and innovation. The theme also reflects the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) vision of ensuring safe, secure, and sustainable shipping, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

National Maritime Week in the Philippines features a variety of activities organized by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and other government and private sector partners. These include the traditional maritime parade, forums on safety and sustainability, career guidance fairs for students, and tributes to Filipino seafarers who remain at the heart of global shipping.

Meanwhile, World Maritime Day provides a platform for international collaboration, reminding the global community of the importance of protecting the marine environment, addressing climate change, and promoting greener shipping practices.

As the largest online maritime community in the Philippines, Marino PH continues to stand firm in its mission to advocate for seafarers’ welfare, promote awareness on maritime issues, and highlight the crucial role of Filipino seafarers in keeping global trade moving. We invite everyone to join us in these meaningful celebrations as we honor our maritime heritage and strengthen our collective commitment to a sustainable future.
