This year’s conference focuses on the transformation of seafaring in the digital age, examining how automation, AI, and connectivity are redefining maritime operations. Sessions will delve into issues such as digitalization onboard, the human element in smart shipping, and how Filipino seafarers can remain competitive in a globalized, technology-driven environment. With experts and thought leaders leading the panels, attendees can expect candid discussions on how to balance technological advancement with crew welfare, safety, and skills development.

Empowering Filipino Mariners and Manning Agencies

A key highlight of the event is its emphasis on Filipino seafarers’ rights and welfare. As the global demand for skilled mariners continues to grow, the conference will explore reforms, recruitment practices, and welfare initiatives that safeguard the dignity and livelihood of Filipino mariners. Manning agencies, training centers, and maritime institutions will showcase programs that align with international standards, ensuring that the Philippines maintains its leadership in global manning and crewing excellence.

Opportunities Beyond the Horizon

Oca Marks Opening of Maritime Week 2025 Manila, Philippines — The maritime community expressed a heartfelt tribute through a wreath-laying ceremony on September 21, 2025 at the AMOSUP Seamen’s Center in Manila, in memory of Capt. Gregorio S. Oca, the founder of the Associated Marine Officers’ and Seamen’s Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP). Also present were AMOSUP officers, members, and several maritime stakeholders who gathered to honor and continue the legacy of Capt.
