1.Air intake filter / silencer
Removes dust and particles from incoming air. The silencer reduces noise produced as air enters the compressor.
2.Compressor cylinder assembly
Contains pistons that move inside cylinders to compress air. In a multistage compressor, air passes through successive stages to reach higher pressure.
3.Electric motor
Supplies the power to run the compressor. It drives the crankshaft, which makes the pistons move.
4.Coupling guard
Covers the rotating connection between the motor and compressor. It helps prevent accidental contact with moving parts.
5.Pressure gauge panel
Displays pressures so operators can monitor performance and spot unusual readings. Depending on the model, gauges may show compression-stage pressures and lubricating-oil pressure.
6.Cooling-water connections
Allow cooling water to enter and leave the compressor’s cooling system. The water carries away heat generated during compression.
7.Crankcase / oil sump
The crankcase houses the crankshaft and associated moving parts. The oil sump holds lubricating oil that reduces friction and wear.
8.Mounting base
Supports the compressor and motor, keeps them aligned, and provides attachment points for securing the unit to its foundation.
