The Intership Navigation Training Center (ISNTC) officially launched its new Bridge and Engine Simulators during its Open House event on September 16, 2026, marking another development in maritime education and training. The event gathered maritime leaders, industry partners, training professionals, and stakeholders who witnessed the unveiling of ISNTC’s upgraded simulation facilities designed to provide more realistic and practical learning experiences for seafarers.

The newly introduced hybrid simulation platform allows seafarers and maritime professionals from different parts of the world to participate in advanced training through cloud-based technology and full-mission simulators. The system provides realistic operational scenarios that support the development of technical skills, decision-making abilities, and safety awareness among maritime professionals preparing for their careers at sea.

During the event, maritime leaders shared their support for continuous improvement in seafarer training. Dr. Jeff Calambuhay emphasized that training goes beyond meeting regulatory requirements and should focus on preparing seafarers to perform their duties safely and effectively onboard vessels. Engr. Giovanni Tuapin, former President of ISNTC and President of Intership Crew Philippines, highlighted the organization’s values of Integrity, Service, Nurture, Teamwork, and Continuous Improvement as guiding principles in developing future maritime professionals. Representing the International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC), Mr. Jake Amog also recognized the importance of advancing maritime education and shared the organization’s support through the International Maritime Training Fund, which contributed to the establishment of the new simulation facilities.

Capt. Rene Dzicki, Training Director of the Intermaritime Group, reaffirmed Intermaritime’s continued commitment to Filipino seafarers and recognized the role of ISNTC’s cadetship program in developing maritime officers and crew members. He shared that many professionals within the company began their maritime careers through the training center, reflecting the impact of quality education and practical preparation. The event concluded with Chief Officer Belly Joe Ligason of ISNTC Batch Bravo 2011 sharing his journey from cadet to maritime officer, inspiring participants with his experience and career progression. The successful launch further strengthened collaboration among maritime institutions, industry partners, and stakeholders in preparing competent and safety-focused seafarers for the future.
