Iloilo City Gears Up for National Maritime Week 2026

ILOILO CITY – Preparations are underway for the celebration of National Maritime Week 2026 as officials from the Iloilo City Government and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Regional Office VI met to discuss plans for the week-long event scheduled on September 22–29, 2026.

The coordination meeting focused on organizing activities that will highlight the importance of the Philippine maritime sector and recognize the significant contributions of Filipino seafarers. MARINA is set to lead this year’s hosting of the celebration in partnership with key maritime and migrant worker agencies.

The discussions also explored opportunities for collaboration among stakeholders to ensure a successful and meaningful observance of National Maritime Week in Iloilo City. The annual celebration is expected to bring together government agencies, maritime organizations, industry partners, educational institutions, and other stakeholders through various programs and activities promoting maritime awareness and appreciation.

National Maritime Week serves as a platform to honor the country’s seafarers while showcasing the maritime industry’s vital role in national development and global trade.
